Cynthia's Personal Blog: Visitors from Hong Kong

Cynthia Fung, a computer engineer for almost 8 years turned chef owner of Restaurant Furenzu in 2005. It is her passion and her dream to open her own restaurant and to share her love of food. With the encouragement from her friends, she finally took the challenge and made her dream come true. Therefore she dedicated the restaurant to all her friends and named it "Restaurant Furenzu". "Furenzu" is a made up Japanese word means "friends". Cynthia is not Japanese but she picked "Furenzu" was also because "Furenzu" sounds like her Chinese name: "Fung Yan Shuen". Restaurant Furenzu was a place for friends to gather and to make new friends. Though Cynthia had sold Restaurant Furenzu in July 2008, she has not stopped cooking and entertaining. Visitors from Hong Kong

It was a surprise to hear from Michelle! A friend I made about 2 years ago when I was back in Hong Kong visiting families. Her mother and my parents both have a condo in resort, Clifford Estate; in China. We met on the bus returning to Hong Kong.

I was with a friend who was there for the Chinese export expo. Overhearing our conversation, Michelle introduced herself. She used to study in the US and now she works for her mother who owns a factory in Hong Kong, Hung Fat Shing Industrial Co.; which manfacture glass and plastic, from jars and bottles to commercial glassware and decorative items.

She and her mother are here visiting friends and it was delightful to see them last night at the restaurant and made a new friend of theirs, Connie.
